"I'm Never Handing You a Microphone Again!" My public speaking story.

When I was in high school, I was a member of Thespians (our drama club). The second year I participated, we had our first award ceremony. I was asked to emcee the event. The only problem was the fact that I had had only one hour of sleep in the three days prior to the event. And when I don't sleep, I get goofy.
I took the microphone from Mr. Lunsford, and started making jokes about what the audience was wearing. From big wigs, to bow ties, I kept the jokes coming. The audience thought I was hilarious, but my drama teacher was mortified.
When I presented the last award, I said:
"And the award for best production, yet another one I guess I didn't win, goes to---"
And at that moment, I fell asleep! Right at the podium. The next day, Mr. Lunsford showed us the video in class and said, "Maisha, that's why I will NEVER give you a microphone again!"
