Breathing and speech rate

by Sid
(Goa)

A: There are certain words I tend to speak fast, especially long words and words ending with the /ed/ and /ss/ sound. Though I am quiet relaxed while speaking, I do find my breath imbalanced even in normal conditions. What should I do to improve my speech?

Q: Good question Sid. The only way to improve and balance your breathing is to practice. The best way is to go to a certified speech therapist. If this is not possible, try breathing exercises and reading aloud, concentrating on careful, balanced breathing. There is no easy fix, just careful repetition. Good luck with your efforts.
