Choosing a Topic

(Carolina Velasquez)

Q: I need to do a demonstration speech, but I don't know what to do it on.

A: The opportunities here are practically endless. However, like an aspiring novelist, it is best to stick with what you know. What item, common or otherwise, do you use regularly? Is there something you like to do you could demonstrate? Are you artistic? If so, you could show how to begin to draw using simple pencil sketches. Do you play an instrument? You could show your audience the basics of your talent. How about some item around the house, like cake decorating or making garnishes? Take what you know and make it into an entertaining informative speech. Yes, speaking can be fun!
