Environmental Speech Topics - Should we use plastics or should we cut more trees?

In today's world where everyone is concerned about global warming and saving our environment, governments all over the world are putting a ban on plastic bags for carrying your purchases. Many governments have put such ban on plastics.

While we are saving the earth from pollution by removing plastics from our cities, don't you think that this might result in more trees being uprooted for paper and paper bags? If we stop using plastics then we have to substitute it with paper. More demand of paper leads to deforestation as more and more trees will be cut.

I feel we need to sit back and think about this matter - or give a speech about it.
